Henry Ford’s Newspaper Publishes Notorious Forged Anti-Semitic Document

Famed automobile manufacturer Henry Ford owned the Dearborn Independent, which published a series of anti-Semitic articles from this day through early October 1920. The series was based on the notorious forged anti-Semitic document, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion

Ford did not publish the Protocols themselves, as some people believe. Instead he published a series of articles based on the Protocols, which were no less anti-Semitic.

Ford issued an apology in 1927 for publishing the series, but there was much controversy over the sincerity of the apology. The damage was done since the series was reprinted in a short book, The International Jew, which has been published around the world and continues to circulate today.
