Communist Party Meeting Banned in Queens
A New York State court on this day upheld a ban on a Communist Party meeting in Queens, New York City.
The judge declared that the community “should not be polluted” by an organization dedicated to the overthrow of the government.
The New York Civil Liberties Committee of the local branch of the ACLU wrote a letter of protest, stating that there had not been any incitement to violence against the government by “any radical” in 17 years.
